VoiceMeeter FAQ
Everything people ask about downloading, installing and running VoiceMeeter — the free virtual audio mixer for Windows 10 and Windows 11. New here? Start with the VoiceMeeter download.
Where can I download VoiceMeeter?
From voicemeeter.xyz/download.html. The current installer is VoicemeeterSetup_v2310.zip, served directly from this site — no mirror, no account, no download wrapper. The package installs VoiceMeeter on Windows 10 and Windows 11 in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
Is VoiceMeeter free?
Yes. VoiceMeeter is free to download and free to use. Banana and Potato offer optional paid licenses that remove the donation reminder; Standard has no paid license at all.
What is the difference between Standard, Banana and Potato?
Standard: 3 input strips — 2 hardware plus 1 virtual VAIO — with 5-band EQ, noise gate and compressor. Banana: 5 input strips (3 hardware + 2 virtual), full patchbay routing, advanced EQ, gate/compressor buses and 3 hardware output buses; the most popular edition for streaming and conferencing. Potato: 8 input strips (5 hardware + 3 virtual: VAIO, VAIO AUX, VAIO Bus), integrated multitrack recorder and VBAN streaming. Each edition includes the previous one. Full comparison on the Banana and Potato pages.
Does VoiceMeeter work on Windows 11 and Windows 10?
Yes — Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11, 32-bit and 64-bit. Windows only: there is no native macOS or Linux build. macOS users route audio with tools such as BlackHole or run VoiceMeeter in a Windows VM.
How do I install VoiceMeeter?
Download VoicemeeterSetup_v2310.zip, unzip it, right-click the installer and run it as administrator so the virtual audio drivers register, then reboot when asked. Afterwards set bus A1 in the VoiceMeeter menu to your real speakers or headset. Full walkthrough: install guide.
Why do I have no sound after installing VoiceMeeter?
Two usual causes. Either A1 is not set to a real output device, or an exclusive-mode application still holds the device. Fix: open the VoiceMeeter menu, set A1 to the speakers or headset you actually use, then System Tray → Restart Audio Engine. Windows default playback should be VoiceMeeter Input.
How do I set up VoiceMeeter Banana with Discord, Zoom or Teams?
In the conferencing app set the microphone to VoiceMeeter Output and the speaker to VoiceMeeter Input if you want the call inside the mixer. In VoiceMeeter route your microphone strip to bus A1 and the VOIP virtual strip where needed. Banana has the strip count and the buses this needs; Standard does not.
How do I use VoiceMeeter with OBS Studio?
In OBS add an Audio Input Capture and select VoiceMeeter Output as the microphone, then set OBS desktop audio to VoiceMeeter Input so game and media audio passes through the mixer. Potato adds a multitrack recorder plus extra buses for a complete broadcast router.
What is VBAN?
VoiceMeeter's built-in low-latency audio-over-LAN protocol. It streams audio between VoiceMeeter instances on the same network and to VBAN Talkie mobile apps — a phone becomes a wireless microphone or an extra output destination.
VoiceMeeter or VB-CABLE?
VB-CABLE is one virtual pipe: a single input/output device pair. VoiceMeeter includes virtual audio devices plus the mixer: strip EQ, gate, compressor, patchbay, multiple buses and VBAN. Need only a pipe → VB-CABLE. Need routing and processing → VoiceMeeter.
Is VoiceMeeter safe to download?
Yes. It is a long-established Windows audio product, and voicemeeter.xyz serves the current installer package directly — no repackaging, no ad-wrapped downloader. Check that the file you receive is named VoicemeeterSetup_v2310.zip and skip third-party mirrors or executables hosted in video descriptions.
Does VoiceMeeter work with ASIO and DAWs?
Yes — VoiceMeeter includes an ASIO bridge. The DAW attaches to the VoiceMeeter ASIO driver while system audio plays through the VAIO strips, so DAW output can be mixed with game or media audio and captured by any recorder.
Does VoiceMeeter add latency?
A small amount, typically a few milliseconds with a WDM device and a 512-sample buffer. Lower the buffer for live monitoring; raise it if you hear dropouts or crackling.
Can Standard, Banana and Potato be installed side by side?
Yes. They use separate device names and separate settings files, so all three can coexist. Two builds of the same edition replace each other.
Where are VoiceMeeter settings stored?
In XML settings files belonging to each edition, plus a registry entry pointing at the last used file. Use the menu's Save Settings to snapshot a known-good routing before you change anything.
How do I uninstall VoiceMeeter completely?
Run the uninstaller from Windows Settings, reboot, then remove leftover VAIO virtual devices in Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers. The reboot between steps is what clears the device graph.
Does VoiceMeeter work on a laptop with one headset jack?
Yes. Set A1 to the headset output, route the microphone strip to A1 and fold system audio in through the VAIO strip. The single jack carries the finished mix; no second interface needed.
Is it VoiceMeeter or Voicemeeter?
The same product. VoiceMeeter is the display name; Voicemeeter is the spelling used by the virtual devices and by most search queries. Either way, the download hub is voicemeeter.xyz.
